In 1945, Dr. Fritz Sennheiser together with seven engineers and technicians set out on the venture to found a new company. The research and development specialists converted their university institute, which had been moved during the war to the small village of Wennebostel, into what became known as 'Labor W', and it was there that they began to build measuring instruments. Less than a year later, microphones were added to their product range, and soon the resourceful team became extremely successful in numerous fields of audio technology. Those were the humble beginnings of Sennheiser electronic, now a worldwide group of companies with more than 1,600 employees and one of the world's leading manufacturers of complete audio solutions. Still a family-owned company, Sennheiser has made a name for itself above all in the development and manufacture of high-quality microphones, wireless RF technology and headphones. Total Crap September 3, 2010 J. Strand I tried these on my computer as soon as I got them and couldn't believe how uncomfortable and quiet (as in music) they were.
I plugged them into my phone and tried mowing the grass listening to music with them. I could not hear the songs over the riding lawn mower and my head hurt pretty bad by the time I was done. My ears felt like jelly from getting the life squeezed out of them.
Then I decided to plug them into my iPod just to be sure they were as bad as I thought before writing this review.
I have DJed for 12 years now. I play the drums. I'm a John Bonham fanatic and I'm trying to listen to "The Ocean" right now because I am super familiar with what I should be hearing as I read all of these reviews about great sound quality. Total BS.
I don't know what you guys usually listen to music with but this is not good sound quality. Bonham's triple bass notes are all but inaudible. If I didn't know they were there I doubt I could hear them. The symbols are dead. I don't hear his speed king squeaking. The guitar and Robert Plant are the loudest part. I'm picturing a bell curve on an equalizer as I listen to these. Even Bonham's Supraphonic snare is hard to hear in detail.
I have listened to Country. Randy Travis has no bass in his voice on these.
Big Boi's You ain't no DJ has no bass despite the 808s best efforts.
Rock is getting unbearable, or is it just the terrible fit?
I can hear the TV show my wife is watching with anything but max volume. There is no way I am going to be able to mix songs with these.
If you can wear these over 20 minutes I applaud you. Forget all night. Completely useless.
Good item... but quite a tight fit! August 13, 2010 Roberto L. Cabrera (LA, California) I just got this item yesterday and, as excited as I was to test it right out of its packet, I was disappointed when I felt how it crammed in my glasses' side clamps right into my skull! I wear glasses when on the computer and there's no way I'm putting it down. It's the item itself that's not a good fit. I don't know if it was made for a kid's head but it's truly a tight fit. No matter how much u adjust it, it will keep getting tighter till it's uncomfortable. The sound quality though is fantastic. I'm no audiophile but I know what sounds good & not, at least. It's way better than my previous Sennheiser HD 202 (of which it broke after a year of light use). I'm hope this new set would last longer, and hopefully, it will come loose in time. If it breaks down just like its predecessor, then I won't go for this brand later.
If you have another choice in mind, maybe you should go for that thought and not this. I tell you... it's not a good thing to wear for over an hour!
Great headphones July 28, 2010 Philip Carringer These headphones are amazing, really good sound quality with decent bass. They are very comforable and can be easily warn for hours without discomfort.
Great headphones for the price July 21, 2010 ryan good Great for the price. Good sound quality and I can listen to them in bed with out the wife hearing any sound.
"Not as Clear As Needed, But Great Product for The Price" July 19, 2010 StevenRay Seller was Excellent, The Product (for The Price) was Excellent. I Have a Home based Recording Studio, and Really Would Like to Find a Pair of Professional, or Near Professional Headphones That Give Good Reference to The Voice, and That Are Very, very Clear. I'm Still Searching. I Have Added This Headgear to My Collection. Maybe One Day I will Get The Chance to Hear What The SennHeiser HD800 Sounds Like, Those Would Definitely Be On My "Wish" List.
