Beware, poorly designed. Annoying cord vibration noise. August 27, 2010 jfisher 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After reading the many reviews, I purchased these head phones from Amazon.
Five days later, I was happy to see the bubble wrap envelope in the mailbox.
I inserted the earbuds and the first thing I heard was a loud rumbling and thumping noise. This was before I plugged it into anything!
Within seconds I realized that these noises occured when ever I touched the cord or it rubbed against my shirt. Just moving my head up and down was enough for the cord to rub against my face and create this annoying rumbling sound.
So will listening to real music mask out this noise? No. I can hear the rumbling in the background everytime I turn my head even at moderate sound levels. Forget about walking or listening to music with soft passages.
I've had other earbuds before but never one with such poorly designed vibration isolation. Maybe Sennheiser changed their design recently because no one has mentioned this issue in their reviews.
Again, beware. The cord vibration noise isolation is very poor.
Great sound August 11, 2010 bwardell Sennheiser has excellent sound wrapped in a great fit. I am extremely pleased with Sennheisers quality.
Unbalanced volume and disappointing sound quality August 1, 2010 ana hoover (Burke, va United States) After being very happy with my old very durable and good sounding $40 Sennheisers, when they finally broke down I knew I wanted another Sennheiser product. The CX 400 II Precision ear buds, however, are headed back to Amazon. The volume in the left bud is noticeably louder than that in the right one. Other that that, the sound quality, in my opinion, is just OK...nothing impressive at all. If not for the unbalanced volume I probably would have kept them but am going to try a Shure product instead.
Best bang for your buck of any headphones @ this pricepoint August 1, 2010 Garrett Rabenold (Columbus, OH) I can barely tell the difference between listening to my Paradigm speakers + Denon amp and listening through these headphones. The accurate sound representation across the spectrum is very impressive for such tiny drivers. Bass is more exaggerated when you use the 'double' ear pieces, so try that if you're looking for more bass.
These Sennheisers feel somewhat flimsy; which may not necessarily be a sign that they'll break, they may just be that light weight.
The 'cord noise' that other people speak of is no more (or less) than any other earbuds that I've ever used.
Great Headphones July 27, 2010 Anthony (California) These a great headphones, sound quality is good and the bass is awesome. One of my favorite features though from these headphones are the comfort (especially compared to my old zune HD stock headphones). They are extremely comfortable and just very good overall. They are also very good at cancelling outside noises out. Great product.
